Description
Bloodstone Point Pendants:
Bloodstone, also called Heliotrope, has a trigonal crystal system and is in the mineral class of oxide in the quartz group. It is the connecting link between the quartz families of chalcedony and jasper and is commonly found in Russia and India.
Bloodstone’s base is chalcedony made green from iron silicate, but like jasper, it also contains small grainy quartz crystals. Hematite and other iron oxides can be present providing yellow and red spots. Depending on the balance of minerals in an individual piece you can see it can range from very pale to dark green as well as having some pinkish to almost lavender swirls in its variated coloring.
