Description
Goddess Isis, the Great Mother, the goddess of healing and magic, was integral part of ancient Egyptian religious beliefs. She is known today by her Greek name Isis but the ancient Egyptians called her Aset. Her name translates to “Queen of the Throne” which is reflected in her head dress, which is typically a throne.
She was also a cosmic deity, with close associations to magic, the moon, the sun and the stars. Egyptians came to believe Isis could be found in the brightest star of the night sky, a symbol of wealth and prosperity.
